Hello, programmers. I hope this newsletter finds you well!
Our work as software engineers requires us to stay glued to our desks all day, which can harm our health and spirit. While we can't change the reality of our work conditions, we can prevent such incidents from happening by going to the GYM and exercising.
💡 Why Exercising?
Exercising for even a short period, such as a 10-minute walk, can gradually enhance productivity. You are probably wondering, how is this possible?
Well, let me enlighten you:
According to an article published by the University of Iowa, Regular exercise helps improve our cognitive system. Consequently, enhancing our memory and problem-solving skills (our best weapon in coding).
Physical exercise relieves stress, and as coders, we sometimes get frustrated with ourselves, especially while debugging our code. Accordingly, getting out all that negative energy will help you clear your mind for another coding session.
Working out releases endorphins, hormones that elevate your mood and create euphoria. Consequently, motivating yourself to do better at every turn.
And, of course, the major point is improving your physical health by improving your cardiovascular and digestive system and reducing the risk of chronicle diseases. I mean, better safe than sorry.
I've been working out for the last two years, so believe me when I say I received all those benefits and much more.
😁 Workout Plan
When and how much you want to work out is completely up to you, but If you want to get an idea. Here is my template for one week:
I exercise 6 days per week, Two days to activate my cardiovascular system and four days for a full-body workout :
A run or a walk (45 min) Or Riding my bicycle (45 min).
Gym Workout (28 min).
You can download the notion template that contains the full Gym program and the exercises I do (4 Days per Week, 28 minutes per Day).
Pro TIP: Want motivation to start going to the Gym? Create that motivation by yourself by finding a gym that accepts annual or bi-annual payments in advance and pays that amount before starting. You can thank me later 😂
💡 Tip of the week
As a developer, this habit is crucial for your well-being and continuity in this field. Therefore, if you don't exercise, I want you to incorporate working out at least twice a week on your to-do list. I promise you. You won't regret it.
That's it for today!
